Team Amelia Rae
Story
On 15th October 2023, for Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, we will be taking part in Choosing Hope - a walk to remember our beautiful daughter Amelia Rae Micklewright. Our Amelia Rae was born perfect on 29th August 2023, and our love for her is endless. While our time with her was short and at times painful, every moment with her is one that we treasure and hold closely in our memory.
After losing Amelia at just 4 days old, we received a Bears of Hope bag from the hospital. The helpful resources it contained, along with a donated bear from another bereaved family in memory of their son Huxley, made us feel less alone and provided us comfort during the most heartbreaking time of our lives.
While we continue to navigate life without Amelia by our side, we hope to make every step count by raising funds to support Bears of Hope Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support, in the important work they do and are increasingly providing (every day in Australia, 6 babies are stillborn, 3 babies die after birth and before their 1st birthday, and a miscarriage occurs every 3.5 minutes)

Bears Of Hope Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support is an Australian not-for-profit organisation, providing leading support and exceptional care for families who experience the loss of their baby.
We provide exclusive and invaluable support programs that include a credible foundation of parent led and psychologist facilitated support groups, private online peer to peer support communities, phone, face to face, online and email counselling and annual community events that remember individual baby’s and recognize their parents love. Bears Of Hope comfort, acknowledge, inform, empower, and guide families during their time of loss and beyond.
As a registered non-profit organisation we are dedicated to the care of others and reinvesting our finances and resources to ensure the mental health needs and wellbeing of parents are being met and embraced for as long as as required.
